Ed Garland said in a statement that he and Hill are deciding whether to file charges against the woman.
“This is a false accusation, and we will make a determination whether to seek to have a warrant issued against the complainant for criminal extortion,” Garland wrote in an email to USA Today. “This accusation is just the latest example of the frequent practice of scurrilous, false charges being made against athletes and celebrities.”
Hill declined to discuss the matter in detail Wednesday at Titans practice.
“I can’t talk about it right now,” Hill said, according to ESPN.com. “The situation is the situation, so I’ve got to let my lawyer take care of it. … It’s just something I’ve got to try to get past.”
Atlanta police said Monday that a woman accused Hill, 28, of sexually assaulting her. TMZ reported the alleged attack occurred in an Atlanta hotel.
