Auburn safety Stephen Roberts is the latest to run into trouble after being arrested Wednesday night on charges of attempting to elude an officer and possession of a firearm without a license, AL.com reported.
According to Auburn Police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey, Roberts was “a passenger in a vehicle and fled from officers during a traffic stop.”

Roberts reportedly posted a $2,000 bond for two misdemeanor counts and was released.
“Coach (Gus) Malzahn is aware,” an Auburn spokesman said in a statement Friday obtained by the website. “He is gathering all the facts and will handle the situation appropriately.”
Auburn opens the season Sept. 3 at home against No. 2 Clemson. Roberts, who appeared in all 13 games as a sophomore last season, was expected to start at free safety this season.
Roberts is due in court Nov. 17.
