The Australian ace was spending time in Miami after he was barred from the Davis Cup in his country for bad-mouthing the tournament’s officials when he was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and trespassing, the Miami Herald reported.

Tomic was staying at The high-end W South Beach hotel when security received complaints of loud music coming from his penthouse. Guards came to Tomic’s door three times to tell him to turn down the music, and each time the Australian reportedly slammed the door in their faces.

When “the defendant pointed his finger aggressively towards the hotel security officers and continued to play loud music,” the guards called police, according to the police report. The police told Tomic he had to leave or he would be arrested. Tomic stayed, which resulted in his arrest.

Tomic lost to eventual Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in the third round of Wimbledon earlier this month. He was then suspended from the Davis Cup after he criticized Tennis Australia for not “supporting” or “respecting” him after he was asked to pay for court time in the lead-up to 2015 Brisbane International in January.

TA president Steve Healy called Tomic’s outburst “unacceptable,” stating: “Playing for our country is an absolute privilege, and with that privilege comes an obligation to behave appropriately. He didn’t.”
