Whether that actually comes to pass remains to be seen — but Barclays is making some preparation for the Isles’ arrival, via Nets Daily.
Here’s a blown-up version of the logos, which could go on a jersey, other apparel, arena signage, marketing or nowhere at all:
Not bad. The first is directly in line with the Nets’ branding, which isn’t a surprise. The second, uh, looks like the Bruins. Maybe nix that one.
And if the team does follow through on the black-and-white thirds, omitting the “Islanders” nickname entirely would kind of make sense, right? That’d keep with the team’s whole “dual identities” motif.
