January’s “Flavor of the Month” is the Salted Almond Honeycomb. The new flavor starts with the sweet, floral taste of honey and is churned with the perfect balance of savory and salty goodness, the company told Newsweek. This recipe is completed with honeycomb pieces and a swirl of sweet almond marzipan to give it just the right amount of crunch and a distinctly nutty flavor.
“Almond and honey is a flavor combination that goes together beautifully in baked goods, especially in cakes,” says Jeanne Bolger, director of research and development at Baskin-Robbins. “For January’s Flavor of the Month, we wanted to give our guests the opportunity to savor this unexpected ‘flavor duo’ in a scoop of our ice cream.”
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. For football fans, Baskin-Robbins is also offering ice cream cakes that can be customized with any of the 32 NFL team logos. Perfect for anyone hosting a playoff party, guests can plan ahead by ordering online at order.baskinrobbins.com or on the Baskin-Robbins mobile app.
Baskin-Robbins will round out the first month of 2020 with one of its favorite traditions, Celebrate 31. On Friday, January 31, participating locations nationwide will be serving up ice cream scoops for only $1.70 and two pre-packed quarts for only $7.99.
In previous years, the ice cream shop chain has pushed a number of different offers to its customers. In January 2019, Baskin-Robbins helped its customers stick to their New Year resolutions with its BRright Choice Flavors. The “better for you” flavors were fat-free, dairy-free, with no refined sugar. Flavors like No Sugar Added Peanut Buttery Bar Blast, Miami Vice Sorbet and Maui Brownie Madness Frozen Yogurt, were available throughout the year at locations nationwide.
Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 in Glendale, California by Burton Baskin and Irvine Robbins, ice cream enthusiasts and brothers-in-law, according to the company’s website. Originally selling a selection of 31 flavors, which inspires the celebration on January 31, the portfolio of flavors has grown to more than 1,300 over 100 years.
This year’s ice cream scoop deal is slightly more than last year’s, which priced a scoop at $1.50. To find if your nearest ice cream parlor is doing this deal, visit www.BaskinRobbins.com or follow on social media. Customers can also check on the mobile app.
