Chafin and and his female passenger, Jennifer Kerr, both posted bond and were released. Public online records did not list their bond amounts.
Chafin has been suspended from the team indefinitely, according to a statement from coach Art Briles. The Bears were off from spring practice for spring break, but were set to resume on Monday.
The rising redshirt senior has rushed for 1,256 yards and 21 touchdowns in his career with the Bears. He posted a career-high with 578 yards and nine touchdowns in just 10 games this past season and was expected to be one of Baylor’s lead backs next season.
