And the results weren't what everyone expected, either, at least for one team Thursday night.
Baylor shook off a sluggish start and scored the final 21 points of the first half en route to a convincing 41-12 win against No. 10 Oklahoma.

But No. 3 Oregon ran into familiar issues against a familiar opponent. No. 5 Stanford ran, ran and ran some more while dominating the time of possession in a 26-20 win late Thursday night.
The Ducks trailed 26-0 in the fourth quarter before putting together a furious rally that fell just short. In dropping its first game of the season, Oregon will fall in the next BCS standings and likely saw any chance of playing for a BCS title disappear with the loss.
But no one is complaining in Waco, Texas.
The sixth-ranked Baylor Bears overcame a sluggish start on offense, an injury to top running back Lache Seastrunk and an off-the-mark Bryce Petty to roll to an easy, 41-12 win against No. 10 Oklahoma on Thursday night.
Baylor improves to 8-0.
The Bears entered Saturday night’s Big 12 matchup leading the nation in offensive yards per game (718.4) in scoring (63.9). They finished the night below their scoring average and with 444 total yards.
Baylor managed just a field goal in the opening quarter and trailed 5-3 in the second quarter. While the Bears defense kept the Sooners in check, the offense finally turned it on, scoring the final 21 points of the half on two Petty TD runs and a Petty to Antwan Goodley TD toss.
Petty, who entered the game as the nation’s most efficient passer and completing 69.3 percent of his passes, was just 13 of 27 for 203 yards. And with Seastrunk slowed by a groin injury, the Bears turned to third-string back Shock Linwood. He ran 23 times for 182 yards and helped the Bears control the clock in the second half and keep the Sooners from entertaining any thoughts of a comeback.
