The Lionesses had opened the tournament with a 4-1 victory over France on Thursday in what was Beckham’s former Manchester United team-mate Phil Neville’s first game as manager.
Goals from Toni Duggan, Jill Scott, Jodie Taylor and Fran Kirby earned England an impressive win, and the squad were paid a visit by Beckham for their second outing.
Beckham was pictured with Taylor at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, with the former England men’s national team captain offering some words of advice.
Taylor, meanwhile, started the game on the bench as Neville made five changes to the starting line-up for what was expected to be a tough test against Germany.
“It’s a step up from what we faced against France and we have a massive challenge ahead of us,” he said.
“I said to the players this morning that if we want to win World Cups, we have to beat teams like Germany and the USA and send a statement out there.
“We’ve now got to start beating the best teams in the world regularly.”
