Belgium is scheduled to play Portugal in a friendly next Tuesday in Brussels as part of its preparations for Euro 2016, and manager Marc Wilmots’ team is together for a training camp leading up to the match.

But the football association confirmed in a statement via its social media channels that training would not take place because of Tuesday’s still unfolding events.

The statement, which was posted in Dutch, French and English, read: “Our thoughts are with the victims. Football is not important today. Training cancelled.”
