The Real Madrid striker again drew a blank against Barcelona, as Lionel Messi and co ran riot at Santiago Bernabeu, winning 3-0 to extend their lead at the top of La Liga to nine points from second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Madrid now lie 14 points behind their bitter rivals, with Benzema particularly profligate in a difficult season.
