So let’s take a look at some of the best moments of those fights:
Best shove
Kevin Harvick on Brad Kesleowski. Harvick felt that Keselowski shouldn’t be turning away from Jeff Gordon after Keselowski and Gordon had contact going for the lead at Texas. So Harvick took matters into his own hands by shoving Keselowski toward Gordon, which then caused the crews to fight. Yeah, it was childish, but it still was the best shove of the season.
Best punch
Marcos Ambrose. Ambrose throttled Casey Mears after the April race at Richmond. He connected well, which is rare for a NASCAR fight.
Best headlock
Matt Kenseth. Angry over being hit on pit road after the October race at Charlotte, Kenseth ran over to Keselowski as Keselowski walked back to his hauler and put Keselowski in a headlock.
Best support
Paul Wolfe. After Kenseth put Keselowski in a headlock, Keselowski crew chief Wolfe was able to grab Kenseth and pull him out of the fray. It was a pretty stout show of strength by Wofle.
Best composure
ESPN’s Jamie Little. Little showed incredible composure as the Gordon-Keselowski crew fight broke out just as she was about to interview Keselowski. She got pushed around but was able to stay composed and near Keselowski the entire time, giving play-by-play and then conducting the interview after the fight ended.
Best image
Keselowski’s sip of his water bottle and the blood running through it after he had gotten punched at Texas.
Best move
Jeff Gordon. As the crews were already starting to push and shove each other, Gordon calmly got out of his car and walked around some crew members and cars to get to Keselowski. With officials and crewmen distracted, Gordon made his way to Keselowski without much interference.
Best quote
Kenseth, talking about Keselowski, after Charlotte: “I went after him because I don’t want to get hurt or killed on pit road. Everybody is vulnerable there. … Yeah, I’m mad. He could have put something through my door and I could be going to the hospital right now because he’s an idiot.”
Best in-car radio quote
Kurt Busch, talking about what he wanted to do to Keselowski at Martinsville: “Well, I guess we get to get in a fight afterwards because I’m going to go (expletive) that dude’s (expletive) face up."
Best insult I
Keselowski on Kurt Busch at Martinsville: “He does awesome things for charity, and he’s probably the most talented racecar driver. He’s also one of the dumbest. Put those three together.”
Best insult II
Hamlin on Keselowski at Charlotte: “Just acting like a dumbass instead of a champion.”
Best insult III
Gordon on Keselowski at Texas: “He’s just a d—.”
