Lizzo, Jack Harlow and Chance the Rapper feature in the award ceremony’s star-studded line-up, while Oscar nominated actor Taraji P. Henson hosts the main award ceremony.
The 2022 BET Awards will livestream across the Paramount family of networks, with the ceremony being live-streamed on BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, and VH1. It is also being simulcast on BET Africa and BET France, and will be streaming of My5, Sky On Demand and BET Pluto in the countries where those services are available.
BET and the other channels will be streaming the event from 6 p.m. ET, when viewers get two hours of red carpet coverage before the ceremony kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.
Doja Cat leads this year’s nominations with six, though she is not on the line-up of performers. Also nominated for multiple awards are Ari Lennox and Drake (with four apiece). Of the performers, Chlöe has the most nominations with three. Sean “P Diddy” Combs, meanwhile, is taking a lifetime achievement award.
Among the hosts this year are the Oscar-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya, as well as his Nope co-star Keke Palmer. Other hosts include Idris Elba, Janelle Monae and Big Freedia, taking to the stage just days after featuring on the new Beyoncé single.
Conspicuous by his absence on both the nomination and performers line-up this year is Lil Nas X. This fact was not lost on the artist, whose new single artwork features a picture of him appearing to urinate on his BET Award. He previously tweeted “thank you bet awards. an outstanding zero nominations again,” before deleting the post.

In the lead-up to the BET Awards, the network will air BET Awards ‘22: Red Carpet Live! from 6 p.m. ET onwards. Pretty Vee and DJ Jae Murphy will be interviewing stars on the red carpet, while Affion Crockett hosts the official Twitter live stream.
The red carpet show will also include performances from Capella Grey, Fast Life Yungstaz, Juvenile, Pheelz, Saucy Santana, and Victoria Monet.
