During the Tuesday, August 16, episode, the Real Housewives of New York alum, 51, gushed over the 50-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s authenticity following backlash over her hair.

“Okay, we need to talk about Teresa’s wedding, Teresa Giudice. So her hair is a big topic,” she said, teasing that the reality star’s long locks were “its own being getting married.”

The New Jersey native’s tresses were partially piled on top of her head while the rest flowed down her back in soft waves. It was accessorized with a crown.

“I need to say this. Teresa started off that show by paying for furniture in Jersey in her castle, her Jersey castle, with wads of cash,” Frankel explained. “So I love the fact that Teresa is now with this long, sort of massive, you know, Zootopia crown hairdo, with this lavish, elaborate party that is a circus,” she said. “Her dress is so ornate, she’s over 50, it’s over-the-top. Like, good for her!”

The Skinnygirl founder joked that Giudice’s “15 million bobby pins” are likely still “stuck in her Italian scalp.”

“She’s being who she is, she’s staying true to her Jersey roots… I love it,” the mom of one, who shares daughter Bryn Hoppy with ex Jason Hoppy added. “I love everything about it. It was a Bravo circus.”

Newsweek reached out to Frankel and Giudice’s representatives for additional comment.

Fans mocked Giudice’s tresses after photos were released from the couple’s August 6 nuptials.

“What kind of bad Rapunzel, chef hat hair f***ery is this?” someone asked on Twitter at the time.

Another compared her ‘do to “Marge Simpson,” and a third, meanwhile, was hoping the event would eventually play out on-screen.

“I sincerely hope Bravo hid a GoPro in Teresa Giudice’s hair to film the wedding,” editor Elizabeth Di Filippo tweeted via her verified account.

The backlash was so strong, Giudice’s longtime hairstylist, Lucia Casazza, came forward defending the style.

“Well, as we know, my girl Teresa is the queen of Jersey, so we needed hair that was fit for a queen,” she told Andy Cohen on his “Radio Andy” SiriusXM show on August 8. “I mean, you know what we stand for in Jersey. You go big or you go home.”

Casazza has been doing Giudice’s hair since 2011 and explained that, while they didn’t use “15 million” bobby pins like Frankel suggested, she did use “1,500.”

Not to mention, the cost was close to $10,000—$7,000 on human hair extensions and another $2,500 for styling.

Giudice and Ruelas announced their engagement via social media in October 2021 during a trip to Greece. The newlyweds are currently in the European country for their honeymoon, posting photos from their getaway on their Instagram Stories.
