The video, posted on Twitter by a user called “CHUNK”, parodies the famous 2000 Fatboy Slim “Weapon Of Choice” music video.
In the original Christopher Walken is seen dancing around an empty hotel to music from British singer Norman Quentin Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim.
For the parody video Walken’s head has been replaced by Biden’s, while text pops up during the video listing what its maker perceives as the president’s successes in office.
These include: “Record Job Growth”, “Infrastructure”, “Signed the American rescue plan”, “Signed the Chips and Science Act” and “Confirmed the first black female to the Supreme Court”.
It also touches on foreign affairs listing “Al Qaeda leader dead” and “Expanded NATO”, referencing the death of Ayman Al-Zawahiri in a July U.S. drone strike and Sweden and Finland applying to join NATO following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The video ends with a warning, asking “What’s it gonna be America?” before offering the choices of “Trump” or “democracy”.
On Twitter alone it has received more than 23,000 likes and 10,000 retweets. A number of prominent politicians have recently suggested Trump, who still maintains the 2020 presidential election was rigged, is a threat to American democracy.
They include Dick Cheney, who accused the New York businessman of being a “coward” and trying to “steal the last election using lies and violence”.
The former vice-president added: “In our nation’s 246-year history there has never been an individual who was a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.”
The Fatboy Slim video is just the latest in a number of pro-Biden memes and parodies that have gone viral online in the past few months.
A video calling for Trump to be “locked up”, posted to the Meidas Touch Twitter feed this week, received more than 1.5 million views.
The video featured some of Trump’s old speeches about the importance of classified documents, including one from 2016 in which he said: “I am going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law.”
Over the past month the “Dark Brandon” meme has been spread across social media by Biden supporters, unironically celebrating what they see as the president’s achievements.
The meme is based on the infamous “let’s go Brandon” catchphrase, a code for “f**k Joe Biden” used by some Republican supporters.
It also parodies Dark MAGA meme, spread by some Trump supporters, urging the former president to be more authoritarian and vengeful if he regains the White House.
