Providence enters the 2022 Big East Tournament as the No. 1 seed after capturing its first regular-season championship with a win over Creighton on Saturday. The Friars are far from an overwhelming favorite to win the tournament, though.
Marquette, Seton Hall, UConn and Villanova are all considered NCAA Tournament teams. The Wildcats in particular could present a challenge, as they defeated the Friars twice during the regular season.
And there’s always the possibility of a Cinderella run. Just last year, Georgetown won four games in four days as an underdog to earn the conference’s automatic bid. You never know what will happen in the Big East.
