1. Wilin Rosario, C, Rockies. It’s been an up-and-down season for the Rockies’ backstop, but it was all up on Sunday (aside from the loss, but nobody cares about that). Rosario finished the day 4-for-5 with a double and homer (8). He scored a pair of runs and drove in three as well.

  2. Miguel Cabrera, 1B, Tigers. Miggy is no stranger to ‘3 Up’. He earned his spot with a 2-for-4 day that included his 13th homer of the season, two runs and three RBI. He’s slashing .322/.376/.558 on the season.

  3. Johnny Cueto, SP, Reds. Aside from breaking a bone in another player’s hand (Brett Lawrie was the latest victim), Cueto had a strong performance, tossing eight innings of one-run ball. Well, only one earned run which is all that matters to us anyway. He struck out eight and walked one.

3 Down

  1. Yu Darvish, SP, Rangers. Darvish was hit hard for the second consecutive start. He tossed six innings, but gave up four earned runs on five hits – two homers – and four walks. He did strikeout nine to help salvage something for fantasy owners.

  2. Josh Hamilton, OF, Angels. Of all the offense that the Angels produced on Sunday night, Hamilton contributed zero to it. In fact, he saw a total of 15 pitches in his four at-bats and struck out three times. Not a particularly strong performance.

  3. Jason Kipnis, 2B, Indians. Kipnis wasn’t particularly impressive either, finishing 0-for-5 with three whiffs. Like Hamilton though, Kipnis was facing off against one of the game’s premier strikeout artists in Max Scherzer.
