Comedian Jerrod Carmichael hosted the evening, which was held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Tracy Morgan, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billy Porter, Natasha Lyonne, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Quentin Tarantino all presented awards at the ceremony, where there some surprise wins and shocking snubs.
Eddie Murphy, meanwhile, was presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy received the Carol Burnett Award.
The Fabelmans, The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once were the big winners of the evening, taking home trophies for some of the major categories.
Meanwhile, on the television side of things, award season favorites Abbott Elementary and White Lotus were the big winners, with three and two statues respectively.
Paramount Network’s Yellowstone won its first ever Golden Globe despite currently being in its fifth season, though actor Kevin Costner, who was being awarded for Best Actor in a Drama Series, was unable to attend the ceremony due to flooding near his home.
Elsewhere, there was shock as Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul was overlooked in the two categories it had been nominated for, while Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon had a surprise win in the Best Drama category.
Newsweek has the complete list of winners, and nominees, from the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
