On the day that early voting opened in the Texas primaries, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power gave the Democrats a 7/2 chance of having a candidate who will be the next Texas governor. A spokesperson for the bookmaker told Newsweek that recent polls for O’Rourke in the Democratic Primary makes him “almost certain” to be the Democrat candidate, therefore his odds are now 7/2 to be next the next Texas governor, down from 4/1...

Anyone who went to the Art Institute of Colorado (AIC) and the Illinois Institute of Art (IIA) will have their student loans canceled out. Students who enrolled in 24 other schools owned by parent company, the Dream Center Education Holdings (DCEH), can also have their loans canceled if they enrolled in those colleges after June 29, 2018. That could mean the cancellation of around 4,000 loans for more than 1,500 students....

It’s a heritage that many throughout history attempted to erase—efforts that persist to this day. It is welcome news that a key pillar of President Joe Biden’s bold new environmental initiative is a plan to conserve 30 percent of U.S. lands and water by 2030. If this could be accomplished, it would go a long way toward combating the extinction crisis at the national level. But here is the rub—the details of how this is going to be accomplished have yet to be worked out....
