Both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have stated that protecting voting rights is a key focus for their administration, and have promised a major speech on the issue. In early July, the president stated he planned on “speaking extensively” on voting rights and that he would be “going on the road on this issue.” His speech planned for Tuesday in Philadelphia appears to be the culmination of what he promised....

Biden traveled to the state’s Boulder County to look at the damage. He met with Governor Jared Polis and local elected officials. The president also met with area residents impacted by the fire. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on Friday that Biden would not honor Trump’s claim of executive privilege to block the release of certain White House records to the January 6 House Select Committee. In an official email statement, Trump decried the move and suggested that Biden would regret the decision, according to a report from Mediaite. His statement also references numerous false or unsubstantiated claims surrounding Biden and the 2020 presidential election....
